What’s New in Labor Law 2025

The German Chamber reviews the latest developments in labor matters in its latest Legal and Tax Update Circle. Our Spanish member, álvarez lentner, participated in person at the German Chamber’s headquarters in Madrid to address highly current topics such as the preliminary hearing in disciplinary dismissals and the consequences of a possible reduction in working hours.

The German Chamber of Commerce for Spain held a new edition of its Legal and Tax Update Circle ylast week, this time to address the latest developments in labor law, led by the legal advisory firm álvarez lentner.

Following the welcome by Melanie Gierth, Director of Legal Services at the German Chamber, Almudena Álvarez Otero, Managing Partner at álvarez lentner, delivered a keynote presentation, which was followed by the discussion of practical cases by Lidia Lérida and Nuria Naranjo, lawyers at álvarez lentner.

Among the topics covered were the preliminary hearing in disciplinary dismissals, the new scenarios of protection against dismissal without cause, and the different situations involving the reconciliation of work and family life.

Additionally, the session addressed the new paid leaves and the highly topical issue of possible working hour reductions and their consequences.
